With the latest reports about Bush administration spying on Americans going far beyond what it got caught in 2005 doing - i.e. illegally intercepting emails and phone calls - I have no doubt the GOP would be passing similar laws to the repressive Digital Crimes Bill had they been left in power.

After the enormous damage the Bush Regime did at home & to U.S. world standing over 8 years, it's incredible that anyone would still speak in favor of them... ;^)

I agree Roy. The links in these GVO posts really lead you into new niches and writers on the net which you never knew existed! I hope Brazilians will stay engaged to not let this law ever pass.

Very well done Paula. The matter of governments (or in this case a legislator), feeling they need to tightly control their citizen's usage of the WWW, gets reprised over and over again it seems. Brazil, Iran, China - and George Bush did illegal spying on American's use of it also.

In each case it is met with a resounding "NO" from ordinary people of the planet - whom believe they're fully entitled to this awesome medium of communication, information & understanding.

It's fascinating to see our common interest in free expression reflected in this issue, and to see so many active netizens in every corner of the globe now.

(And Obama doesn't need any more blogroll adds... ;^)
