Momento ao vivo do anúncio da cidade vencedora para sediar as Olimpíadas de 2016. O Rio de Janeiro será a primeira cidade da América do Sul a receber uma edição dos Jogos Olímpicos / 3:15
My congratulations to Brazil! This was easily the fair selection since no games have ever been held in South America.
This may also elevate the stature of president Lula, whom has taken a proper stand against draconian restrictions by Brazil on the internet usage of it’s citizenry.
I agree Martin, Rio it should be. The U.S. has had the games in L.A. ’88, Atlanta ’96 and Salt Lake City ’02 – enough already.
The fact that Obama personally went to Copenhagen to lobby for Chicago, probably backfired. The Olympic Committee would have felt pressure not to award to Chicago, since they’d be seen as caving in to the U.S. president if they did.
As a quite comical zinger to cap the day for Brazil, a very good Obama look-alike showed up on Copacabana beach; see the first video above… ;^)
